通訳コースについて
東京外国語大学大学院の言語応用専攻に属する本コースでは、通訳・翻訳を実務・学術の両面から学ぶことを目的とし様々な活動が行われています。一般的な大学院の最終課題である修士論文・修士修了研究の執筆に加え、同時通訳付き講演会など実践的なトレーニングも行っています。

同時通訳付き講演会について
本コースの活動の主体となるのが修士2年次に行われる同時通訳付き講演会です。1年次に基礎的な通訳技術を習得した学生が同時通訳を担当し、英語から日本語もしくは日本語から英語へ通訳します。実際の聴衆に向けた講演であるため、聴衆からのフィードバックにより、通訳技術のさらなる向上が期待されます。
今年度は、「国連と人道法」「謝罪に関する語用論研究」「自分を売り出すための『ブランド力』とは」など幅広いテーマで講演が開かれました。
最終回となる卒業記念講演会では、ジャズミュージシャンであり、作家や音楽講師としても精力的に活動をなさっている菊地成孔氏をお迎えし、普段何気なく聞き、使用している「音楽」と「言語」を結びつけてご講演いただきます。
コースの2年間の学びの集大成となる卒業記念講演会、多くの方のご来場をお待ちしております。
About Interpreting Course
International Communication and Interpreting Course belongs to Applied Linguistics of Graduate School, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. The purpose of this course is to study interpretation and translation from the practical and academic point of view. Our studies are not limited to writing thesis; we run various projects such as simultaneous interpreting of lectures so that we can train ourselves as professionals in this field.

About Lecture with Simultaneous Interpreting
About Lecture with Simultaneous Interpreting
One of our main focuses in terms of practical training is “Lecture with Simultaneous Interpreting” which is a part of our 2nd year program. Students who develop basic interpreting skills in their 1st year serve as interpreters in each lecture. Depending on the speaker, they interpret Japanese into English or vice versa. We invite audience to the practicum and we ask them for their feedback that we apply to our learning.
In 2015/2016 season, we have held lectures on these topics: “United Nations and International Humanitarian Law,” “Pragmatics on apology,” “‘Branding’ for self-marketing,” etc.
In our final lecture, we will invite Mr. Naruyoshi Kikuchi, who is a musician, a writer and a music lecturer. He will give us a deep insight into “music” and “language” that is a part of our daily lives but we do not pay much attention to it.
